Introduction

Know the Structure of IGNOU M.Com

The revised IGNOU M.Com is an 80-credit programme spread over four semesters. The minimum duration is 24 months and the current official programme page states a maximum duration of 48 months. Graduates of any recognised discipline are eligible to apply. (IGNOU) Students generally follow the semesters in sequence. But it is not always a barrier to progression to Semester 2 if you have an uncleared Semester 1 paper.

Can you take both semester exams at the same time?

You can try to attempt Semester 1 backlog papers with Semester 2 papers when:

• Your admission to M.Com is valid
• Re-Registration for IGNOU M.Com Semester 2 has been completed.
• Minimum study period completed for both semesters
• Courses are shown as eligible in the examination portal
• Relevant assignments have been submitted
• Dates and sessions of the examination do not clash

1. Checking of Admission and Re-Registration

Check your admission status, programme code and enrolled courses. Re-registration means registration for the next semester/year of an existing programme. You cannot just show up for the IGNOU Semester 2 Exam, after you have done with Semester 1. Successful re-registration for Semester 2 must also be achieved.

2. Have Your Enrollment No

To check registration, submit the IGNOU M.Com Exam Form and view results you need to have your enrollment number.

Keep it along with your admission and re-registration receipts. These records may be useful in resolving a missing course issue.

3. Download IGNOU ID Card

Download the new ID card from the student portal. Carry the printed or accepted digital version of it with your hall ticket during the IGNOU Term-End Examination.

4. Read the Program Guide

Refer current M.Com programme guide for information on semester pattern, credits, evaluation system and course requirements.

5. Find the Right Study Material

Arrange the official study material of IGNOU for Semester 1 and Semester 2 separately. Doing both semesters together can get confusing if you don’t have a folder and revision plan for each course.

6. Submit M.Com Assignments in Time

9. Look for Exam Clashes

The main problem is practically the IGNOU exam schedule. you cannot sit for two papers on the same date and in the same session.

IGNOU may not conduct a separate examination due to a clash between two selected backlog and current semester papers. If so, it may be necessary to attempt one paper in a later TEE.

10. Project or Synopsis Submission

You need to prepare only a project or a dissertation which forms part of your registered M.Com curriculum. Adhere to the official project guidelines and approval process.
